Terms of Service
Welcome to Nova. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and [Nova / legal entity name] ("Nova," "we," "us") and govern your use of the Nova astrology service delivered over iMessage and SMS (the "Service"). By texting Nova, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. You must be 18 or older
The Service is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use Nova. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.
2. For entertainment purposes only — not professional advice
Nova is provided for entertainment and self-reflection purposes only. Astrological readings, birth-chart interpretations, compatibility readings, daily messages, and anything else Nova sends are not statements of fact and are not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.
Nothing Nova says is medical, mental-health, psychological, legal, financial, relationship, or other professional advice, and you should not rely on it as such. Nova does not predict the future, guarantee any outcome, or diagnose or treat any condition. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for decisions that matter, and never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something Nova said.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact emergency services or a crisis line immediately — in the U.S., call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Nova is not an emergency service.
3. What the Service is
Nova computes an astrological birth chart from the birth details you provide and uses artificial intelligence to generate conversational readings and daily messages. Readings are AI-generated and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent. The birth-data and astronomical calculations depend on the accuracy of the information you give us. You are responsible for the details you provide.
4. Messaging terms
When you use Nova you consent to receive recurring text messages (iMessage/SMS), including automated and personalized messages, at the phone number you contact us from. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of any purchase.
Reply STOP at any time to opt out of messages, and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Note that opting out of messages with STOP is not the same as cancelling a paid subscription — see Billing below.
5. Subscriptions, billing & auto-renewal
Parts of the Service require a paid subscription. The price, billing period, and any free-trial terms are shown to you at checkout before you pay. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms.
Your subscription automatically renews. Unless you cancel, your subscription renews at the end of each billing period and your payment method is charged the then-current price, until you cancel. If you started with a free trial, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
How to cancel: you may cancel at any time by replying CANCEL to any message from Nova, or by emailing [support@nova.example.com]. Cancellation stops future renewals; it takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep access until then. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we don't provide refunds or credits for partial periods. Note that texting STOP only stops messages — to stop billing, reply CANCEL (or email us).
6. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to break the law, harass others, impersonate anyone, submit someone else's personal information without their permission, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is abusive.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including Nova's software, content, and branding, is owned by us and our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial use under these Terms.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any reading is accurate or reliable.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or reliance on) the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the [twelve] months before the claim or [US$50].
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
11. Changes
We may update the Service and these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [State], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. [Dispute-resolution / arbitration / venue terms to be confirmed by counsel.]
